This actually wasn’t surprising to me, but re-awakens lots of thoughts that people don’t want to hear. We have a lot of people in the US that want a more protectionist society and keep the manufacturing jobs that are going overseas. Problem is, the rest of the world is only moving forward and we need to further progress our knowledge and skills to stay on top. It’s scary to me how fast Europe and Asia embrace new technologies while the US is years behind and yet seems perfectly content with that.
It’s true, people don’t like to hear some of these statistics. It can be scary to extrapolate on the current trends. In many cases the conclusion is not pleasant. However when all is said and done, we can’t change the world. It’s far better to focus on what we can change instead of fearing that which we can’t.
