Colorful tabs in Firefox

I was answering a coworker’s question and as he went to a web site I saw he was using Firefox, but all of the tabs were different colors. I thought it might be a skin, but mentioned that I liked his colorful tabs. He laughed and said that was the precise name of the extension.

Here’s what it looks like.

Colorful tabs

If you like what you see, you can have colorful tabs as well. I found 6 to be a good setting for the level of background tab fading.

Sadly, it’s not available on Linux so I can’t use it at home. That’s the first extension I’ve seen that doesn’t work on all OSes. I wonder what the problem is.

  1. […] If you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser (and you should) then you might also want to sue the colorful tabs add-on. Mainly because it looks cool and livens up the desktop a little more. (Hat tip to Dan Hersam) Site Search Tags: No Tags Technorati Tags: No Tags Related Tags: No Tags […]

  3. You’re welcome. And I have good news for Linux users – the beta release works on Linux and will be released soon. Apparently you have to go all or nothing for OS support and there was a problem on another OS.

  4. I think I saw that somewhere before…I decided it would be too weird and too big a change and I didn’t install it. Ha!
