Amazon affiliate link generator

I signed up for Amazon’s affiliate program way back in March 2002 and at the end of October 2006 my total finally broke the $100 mark. I’m still awaiting the check (I think they sent it to my old address, even though I updated my address before the end of October. It is now set to go directly into my bank account, assuming I still have that account in May 2011).

Having gotten the taste of money from Amazon, I decided to make some more affiliate links, but I often forget my affiliate ID and the interface at Amazon to create the links is a hassle. I created an Amazon Affiliate link generator to make the process easier, for you as well as me.

The main goal was to make it as fast and convenient as possible to generate affiliate links.

Features include:

  • You only have to enter the affiliate ID once and it will be saved from then on.
  • Mostly automated. You still have to browse to the item page and copy the image location, but it will automatically parse the ASIN from the image location link and create a title from your keywords. (Let me know if the ASIN doesn’t show up. I’ve tested it with several links but there are lots of variations). The next thing I’d like to streamline is the step of manually copying the image link location.
  • You can see a live preview of the HTML, changing it to your liking. The default format is what I use for my blog entries when I write product reviews, but you can change it to look however you want, or just use the links and do the formatting later.

Let me know about any issues or suggestions in the comments. I hope it helps others save some time while creating Amazon affiliate links. Consider it an early Christmas present.

  1. This looks like it could be very useful. Thanks for putting it together.

By the way, I don’t know if you’ve linked to my site anywhere in the past, but my blog site has moved to http://www.blognitivedissonance.com
