one more month

I have remained silent on a rather significant issue and have decided it’s about time I spill the beans. Initially I was hesitant to discuss my personal life because the site has migrated from a quasi-journal to a blog, and personal entries didn’t seem to fit anymore. If you will permit me to return to the former style in honor of this occasion, I would be grateful.

A month from today I will be married in the Timpanogos Temple.

Exciting, isn’t it? I consider myself extremely lucky to have found Katie and I wish I had something profound to say to express how I feel, but it’s hard to put into words. Simply put, I feel a profound sense of gratitude.

Oh, and while most people say the Christmas holidays pass too quickly, I have a feeling they won’t go fast enough for me. Not that I’m counting or anything.

  2. Congrats!

You know, I wondered if something like this was up when you asked Cameron about hotels with jacuzzis. ;)

  3. WooHoo! Exciting. Congrats!!

Hey, your site can contain both links and personal info. There’s nothing wrong with that, not that I’m aware of anyway.

  4. PS, Have you composed and played a song for her yet?

Comment by Renee on December 10, 2003 @ 7:55 am
  5. Congrats. I still can’t believe you’re betraying all of us in Singles Land, but whatever you think is best. ;)

  6. Thank you for the congratulations.

Jan: I wondered if someone would pick up on that. Nice work.

Renee: I know it can, but it just hasn’t been the norm recently. I guess I’m just weird like that.

Renee2: I’ve played songs for her. We’ll see about composing one.

Cameron: When you find someone to leave with I don’t think you’ll have any problem leaving Singles Land.

  7. Singles land sucks. Especially in a Singles Ward. The movie don’t lie, baby!

  8. Singles Land completely sucks. I don’t blame Dan a bit for getting out while the getting’s good.

Cameron, I think it’s more of an escape than a betrayal.

  9. !!! Congratulations to both of you!

  10. I kind of like singles land, though the alternative certainly has its advantages. I can’t blame Dan for leaving, though it is rather inconvenient for me to have to move now. ;)

  11. Levi, just stay there. Pretend you’re their kid. ;)

  12. Congratulations! So are you going to post a picture of Katie for all your blogging friends?

  13. Dan is smart for moving out of singles land. The pickings get slimmer and slimmer…

  14. Mel: If I had a scanner I could scan in the invitation photo. I’ll see what I can do.

Renee: Don’t give Levi any ideas. Mel already asked what I would do if he refused to move out. All I’ll say is if Levi’s stuff is still there after January 1st, DI is going to get a whole lot of donations.

  15. I don’t want just a pic, I want bio, hobbies, likes, dislikes. Need to make sure she’s good enough for my cousin. :-)

  16. Oh she is. I don’t know how she would feel about me putting a full biography of her on the web. We’ll could come visit so you and Lisa can see for yourselves.

  17. Sure, after the wedding when it’s too late. ;-)

  18. So, Dan. What does Katie think of your desire for $99,000 400ft gopher made of cheese?

Comment by Jan on December 12, 2003 @ 10:57 am
  19. Oh my. I vaguely remember writing that but now that the time is here, I can say without reservation that a $99,000 400-foot gopher made entirely of cheese is completely unnecessary.

Comment by dan on December 12, 2003 @ 3:28 pm
  20. LOL

Dan, don’t give in on that point. You felt strongly about it 6 months ago and you should stick to your guns. If she truly loves you . . . .

I haven’t been hit up for donations yet either. Did you at least run around screaming?

When I get married, I plan to run around screaming, “I’m getting married!” and then ask for donations. If that doesn’t work, I sure hope the girl’s parents are rich because I want to have a $100,000 wedding. $1,000 for the normal expenses (the cake, dress, tux, food) and $99,000 for the 400 foot gopher made entirely of cheese.

  21. Good point Rick.

So hows’about some cash? On the order of $99,000 should cover it.

Comment by dan on December 12, 2003 @ 4:14 pm
  22. Sure. No problem.

The check is in the mail. :p
