That’s true, but I understand that if the signature is deemed invalid and the charges are disputed, the merchant has to pay. If I were a merchant, I’d want to make sure the signature was correct.
At lunch today the clerk checked ID, double checked the signature and even commented on the speed at which the signature was written. She was very thorough.

I’ve noticed BYU is very diligent in checking signatures, but no one else is. I loved his adventures, but I’d be too chicken to try them.
