We’ll start with the good news. The Simpsons show will go on. I wasn’t too upset when I heard it was going to be ending, because there are so many episodes that I haven’t seen yet. I’m not anxious for it to end by any means, but it wouldn’t cause my world to come crashing down around me if it did.

Now the bad news. Britney Spears is a big fat liar. Well, I guess she’s just a liar, since she is rather petite and quite slender. She was lying when she said she didn’t smoke, as this photo illustrates. She also said that she was a virgin, but her boyfriend says otherwise. She told reporters that it would have been better if she hadn’t ever mentioned being a virgin. The real issue at hand is that she is a hypocrite. I don’t think anyone (except her pastor) cares that she smokes and has had sex, but what we should care about is that she was self righteously telling fans not to. She already dresses like a whore and people still worship her, so her fans aren’t too picky to begin with. The bottom line is that she wouldn’t have had bad PR if she hadn’t lied. Sure smoking is stupid, but it’s not worth the hassle to pretend you don’t. In spite of all this, I’m sure her career won’t be adversely affected. It reminds me of Clinton’s escapades which didn’t tarnish his image much, with the exception of this slight embarassment.
