introverts versus extroverts
Today’s Ask Yahoo question asked what the ratio was between introverts and extroverts, and they answer was 60% to 75% of the world population are extroverts. They did point out that 60% of gifted children are on the introvert team.
I wouldn’t have guessed there were that many extroverts.
What are you? (You can take a test to find out.)
Wow! Those figures imply that the incidence of being gifted in an introvert is 2.8 times as likely as it is in an extrovert. That is a huge disparity! So then why do we vote for extroverts for office?
Stephen, that is a good question. Perhaps if we want charisma of extroverts we need to seek out that small percentage that are also gifted.
Dan, I came out ENFJ, which translates as a Teacher Idealist. Boy howdy, everything that was stated was right on target. A slight extrovert that is mostly concerned with the personal growth and well being of mankind, yet comfortable in isolated activities.
Oops, got a little excited there: more information than you wanted!
I am the Protector (iSfJ)and most definitely introverted.
Scored as an extrovert. No surprise in that.
I took this test a long time ago and came out as a teacher-idealist as well (ENFJ).
I should probably put my own results here. I took this test several years ago and scored ISTJ.
Stephen, people vote charisma, not skills. Think about who was popular in high school. They were rarely the smarted but usually attractive and charming.
I am the Mastermind, an INTJ. Yeah, I knew I was introverted. I just didn’t think that I’d score so high in that area. Sheesh.
hello. I’m INTJ, strong I, strong N. introverts are rarely popular, although i think we kind of gain really loyal friends, if we have any… it’s mainly a disadvantage in a world of extraverts, who expect extraversion from everyone.
This ratio is wrong. A ‘real’ study, not just a guess’ was done and the proper ration is right at 50/50. A little more introverted for guys and a little more extroverted for ladies. The study was using the Myers Briggs test to determine the ratio.
