the allure of magic

Justin’s levitating for food post sparked my interest in David Blaine. Blaine is a street magician who I’ve seen do some impressive tricks on TV, and I too wanted to learn how he did them.

I don’t care for the floating stars on the page but David Blaine Style Street Magic revealed several secrets. Like Justin, I was disappointed by their simplicity. Couldn’t they be more complicated? I feel daft having been fooled by them and thinking they were incredible. Sometimes I wish I’d left it a mystery, but then again, I’m very curious. The problem is that now that I understand how it’s done, it’s no longer entertaining.

  2. I love David Blaine. I’m scared to go to your links and lose the magic.

  3. Whoops. He must have changed the link (it’s fixed now).

Renee: That may be a better course of action.

  4. I saw this today about a stunt Blaine is going to do: hanging in a plexiglas box for 44 days over the Thames River. He also mentions that the Fox show calling his stunts bogus was bogus itself. Hmm.

  5. That’s a very strange thing to feel you have to do. It appears he is a bit chunkier than normal which would most assuredly be helpful on a diet of only water.

  6. Talk about an extreme diet! The bonus in this case is that he gets paid for it. How would that be?
