I Am Sam

I watched I Am Sam tonight. Wow. It was a very powerful movie. The plot presents you with a difficult question of whether or not a man with the mental capacity of a 7-year-old can successfully raise a child. The acting from all three is superb. Sean Penn’s portrayal of a retarded man is very authentic and it’s very easy to empathize with his character. Michelle Pfeiffer’s role as a heartless lawyer who begins to realize that money and work aren’t everything is easy to relate with. Dakota Fanning steals your heart when she expresses her undying love for her brain damaged father. Excellent story, acting and movie. I give it an A.

  1. That’s interesting. I thought they put too much into it, and as a result, I would have given it more of a lackluster rating — a B.

  2. It was one of the best movies i have ever seen in my life. I very much enjoyed it, and the little girl was too cute!
