snowboard lawyers

On the drive home from Springdale I saw a billboard for snowboardlawyers.com which redirects to provolawyers.com/snowboard_injuries.htm.

It’s clear by their use of FrontPage that creating a quality web site was not considered a high priority. The tables are so wide that I had to scroll to the right to see the end of each sentence and then scroll back to the left to read the beginning of the next line. The page was last modified on February 19, 2002 so it’s not even being kept up-to-date and it’s not even snowboarding season. It gives me the impression that it’s gotten too easy to produce a web site. I would usually agree that it’s good to make things easy to do, but when you end up with sites that look like they were designed by a blind wombat hyped up on amphetamines I begin to wonder.

Just so you don’t think I’m a bitter old codger who hates every web design I see (even though I’m neither old nor bitter), Movable Type just redesigned their page in conjunction with a new release. I liked the other one and the new look is great too, and very easy to use. I tip my hat in their general direction.

  2. Tammie – if you do, hopefully you won’t need snowboardlawyers.com! If they really do keep blind frenzied wombats, it could be dangerous.

I think I preferred Movable Type’s old layout, but the new one isn’t bad. They make great use of fonts , color, and layout. It’s sort of a classy, understated look. I wish I could do that without blatantly ripping someone off.

  3. Ouch! I see what you mean about that site, it’s a shame that a lot of people don’t spend coding manualy, a good quality site.

    Shameful! :p
