telemarketers get their own medicine

I just read Dave Barry’s column about the do not call registry and I found it deliciously ironic. In another column he provided the number for the ATA and now they are complaining that they are receiving unwanted calls which are inconveniencing them. The horror!

  1. Oh Dan, you’re readin’ my mind man. My ahoyhoy e-mail accounts has been getting pummeled by spam from a printer cartridge replacement company. They even send two or three at a time which drives me crazy. I had the idea of posting their toll-free 800 number on ahoyhoy and asking everyone to call it over and over again. Reason being, although it’s free for us to call, it’s not for them. I just haven’t had the kiwis to follow through with it. Perhaps now I’ll consider it.

  2. Oh, the delicious irony.

Like an asteroid hitting the Earth? He must mean the Happy Asteroid of Eternal Bliss and Merriment (and quiet dinners).

  3. Interesting, I think I’ve read something like that somewhere in past, will try to find it.

  4. Page: May I ask why the link you provided with your comment bears a striking resemblance to my blog? Besides the change of date, it is almost identical to my December 2002 monthly archive.

  5. Even weirder… look at the page source there. Most of the ‘http’s are replaced by ‘kttp’s and href is replaced with ‘brad’. Maybe that’s a function of the page copy script used?

  6. I noticed the brad instead of href, but I hadn’t noticed the ‘kttp’s. I’m still confused as to its purpose, and why he linked to it from my site.
