MyBlogLog

You might have noticed two new additions on the front page sidebar. The first one shows pictures of recent visitors who are registered users of MyBlogLog and the second one shows the most popular outgoing links of the day.

MyBlogLog has provided a way to track outgoing links and ever since I heard about it I’ve used their service for that reason alone. It’s been a while now (several years) and I got a few e-mails from them now and then but didn’t pay much attention. I heard they were recently purchased by Yahoo, but I still didn’t pay much attention to what they were doing. Then I read how to market your blog on Darren Rowse’s blog, which was written by Tony Hung as a guest blogger.

In #14 he suggested using MyBlogLog’s community feature, which I didn’t know existed. I had seen a few sites with some pictures of people but I didn’t know what to make of it. He pointed to his review of MyBlogLog and I decided to try it out.

As I said, the first widget shows who has visited your site with pictures of them. That’s pretty slick to be able to see the faces of your visitors.

The second widget shows your users the top 5 outgoing links of the site. I already know the top links since I use Mybloglog behind the scenes, but now you can see it as well.

  1. Did you know the NSA can take your picture through your monitor? I’ll bet that’s how MyBlogLog gets the pics.

    ;)
