Christmas desktop 2006
It’s December 1st again, and you know what that means – it’s time to break out xsnow and a new Christmas wallpaper for the holidays. I’ve also started listening to my collection of Christmas music to get into the holiday spirit.
Happy Holidays!
Is this xsnow and wallpaper on your home computer, or at work, or maybe both? Any suggestions/tips you can offer about where to get cool Christmas wallpaper and these other gadgets? Thanks.
The screenshot is from my desktop at home which runs Linux, and xsnow is not readily accessible to the Windows-using masses. A Windows version of xsnow exists, but costs $10.
As for Christmas wallpapers, the one I used came from webshots.com, but I searched on Google, del.icio.us and used wallpaperreview.com.
i want some pretty desktop pictures for the winter months. Thank you.
Here are some links that have winter (or Christmas) desktop wallpapers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Please send me x-mas wallpaper or screen savers.
Well, since I now run Linux at home, I’ve decided to also run xsnow as part of my seasonal desktop. Do you know how to have xsnow automatically run when I log in? I tried adding it to the startup section of sessions configuration and it does start up, but quits right away.
Did you make it run in the background?
I have to launch it from a terminal and keep the terminal window open in order to keep xsnow running.
I run ‘xsnow &’ in a terminal and close it and xsnow keeps right on snowing.
Please send me x-mas wallpaper or screen savers. Christmas desktop 2006 this has been my favorite for years!!!!!
thanks,
