mt blacklist and pepys
MT-Blacklist 1.6.3 (tar/gzip, zip) was just released. Since I was changing things anyway, I got the latest blacklist too, so now everything is up-to-date.
This looks like it will be the last release based on Jay’s comments. His reasoning is that Movable Type 3.0 will have sufficient methods to manage comment spam so the utility of MT-Blacklist will fade, along with the donations.
MT 3.0 is in beta starting this week (sign-up to be a beta tester here) so the release should be forthcoming. I filled out the form to be a beta tester to get a sneak peak, but I haven’t heard anything yet. It’s possible I’ll be running 3.0 as long as the upgrade isn’t too strenuous.
In other news, the Pepys Project (a weblog directory categorized by location) which used to be at pepys.akacooties.com has been rewritten and moved to a new domain: www.pepysproject.org. Mike has asked everyone to resubmit their sites so he can get rid of the cruft in the old one.
To submit your site go to the appropriate geographic location, then click on “Suggest New Link” on the left sidebar. It’s quite new still, so you might be one of the first representatives of your state.
Thanks for the heads-up on the new location! Now I have to decide whether to be the first person listed in DC, or to go ahead and list myself in Virginia (where I really live).
Happy Birthday to you as well. I read your latest post and didn’t understand a word of it. Be patient with me. I’m learning. :-)
Tim: I apologize. That wasn’t a good one to start out with. Basically, MT-Blacklist is a way to keep people from commenting on my blog with less than pleasant URLs. Pepys is a geographical directory of blog web sites. You could submit your own if you wanted.
