will spam ever stop?

If anything, I’ve noticed a recent increase in spam, in spite of a new law aimed at stopping it. True to their nature, spammers are making a small effort to find loopholes in the law, while some are ignoring it completely. The end result: Spamming continues unabated.

  1. If you’re willing to put forth some effort, you can probably extract some money from the spammers. I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort for me, but I think you can get a fair bit of money.

  2. The problem is, how? The spammers aren’t going to just give you the money if you ask. Their ISPs are typically in cahoots with the spammers. I wouldn’t know where to start.

  3. There was a piece on NPR the other day about spam and the back-and-forth efforts of spam blocking software vs. the spaming software designed to circumvent the filters. Who ever comes up with a real solution for filtering/blocking spam and having it work long-term is going to make a fortune. Please, just let it be me.
