It takes a fair amount of imagination to come up with a good web design. I've made some designs available if you want to have somewhere to start. Some things to keep in mind when designing a web site is to make it as useable as possible. It's not useful if half of your visitors can't use it, so I recommend keeping things simple but nice looking. Make sure the colors contrast enough to that they can be seen easily. It's very annoying to visit a site that has a red background and maroon text because it's very hard to read what they have to say and most people won't bother trying.
