A Simple Way to Speed Up Firefox on Windows

If you use Firefox on Windows and it feels slow at times, this is worth a try.

Palemoon is an optimized build of Firefox. It works like Firefox, looks like Firefox (except for the moon icon) and feels like Firefox, except it’s 25% faster. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and it does seem peppier when opening tabs.

The only downside I’ve seen is that the option to save files automatically is occasionally forgotten and I have to set the preference over again if I restart the browser.

The easiest way to try Palemoon out is to download the zip version. It uses your existing Firefox profile without having to install anything. Just download and unzip the file, close Firefox and run Palemoon.exe.
