The Best 5 Books I Read in 2008

I do a lot of reading. They’re mostly read audio books checked out from the library with a few regular books added to the mix. From the fifty plus books I read this year (at least since I started tracking them on LibraryThing), here’s my top five, in the order that I read them.

The Only Investment Guide You’ll Ever Need by Andrew Tobias – An easy to read classic on all things related to managing your personal finances. It was an ideal blend of entertaining and informative.

Personal Development for Smart People by Steve Pavlina – Challenges you to improve yourself using simple methods that seem obvious in retrospect, but aren’t initially.

On Writing by Stephen King – Basic principles of good writing and how to come up with a story from one of the most successful novelists out there.

The Now Habit by Neil Fiore – A psychological approach to improving your productivity with practical ways to reduce procrastination.

Be the person you were meant to be by Jerry A. Greenwald – An old book with a timeless message discussing nourishing and toxic behavior. Includes ways to increase nourishing habits and tips on reducing toxic ones.
