Six Months of Free Identity Theft Protection

Jim Bruene of Net Banker found a deal from Intersections for a free credit report with FICO score and 6 months of identity theft protection. The service is called Identity Guard and in addition to providing its own service, it’s privately labeled by Bank of America, Capital One, Discover and Citibank.

What caught my eye is that unlike most offers of this ilk, they didn’t automatically charge Jim’s credit card once the 6 months were up (Jim tried out a similar offer last year with 6 months of identity theft protection without the credit score). I signed up last night, and they do get your credit card information up front, but no charge is placed on it. I look forward to seeing what the protection is like for the next 6 months.

I saw my FICO credit score from Equifax immediately after signing up. So far so good.
