Zero Pollution Motors has an air-powered car they plan to make available to the US in 2010 for $17,500. It has a maximum speed of 96mph, will get 106mpg with a range of 848 miles on the 8 gallon tank. If it really has those stats, I may be trading in the Maxima. It’s not the prettiest thing to look at, but to be fill up with compressed air for less than the cost of a gallon of gas, then drive twice as many miles, I can deal with ugly.
Standard Features will include:
Computer based screen display of vehicle control parameters
Full CFC-free A/C
Airbags
Fully reclining driver’s seat
Power windows, door locks and mirrors
Deluxe AM/FM stereo with cassette and cd player, optional GPS
Rear window defogger
Concealed spare tire
All season 13-inch radial tires
A cold weather package will be available
now that would make it rather difficult for websites such as FUELLY and FUELFROG wouldn’t it?

» Comment by Dan on August 12, 2008 @ 1:20 pmI totally agree and this looks like it is pretty good. One thing I did not see is how you would “fill it up.”
» Comment by whaleman on August 12, 2008 @ 6:26 pmRefueling: The Air Vehicle can be refilled with Air at home or in your parking garage by plugging it into a normal power outlet. The compressed Air tank is also automatically refilling when driving at higher speeds.
