Share Your Desktop With Others

You’re on the phone with a friend of family member explaining how to use a piece of software. Frustrated, you think about how much easier it would be if they could look over your shoulder and see how to do it.

Remote access solutions like NetMeeting, Remote Desktop and VNC work, but they require firewall changes, a static IP address and software installation (or configuration) on both sides. In short, they’re too much hassle for simple needs. The time it would take to set them up can usually be spent describing what’s on your screen.

Yuuguu still requires software on your side, but once it’s installed anyone can view your desktop with a web browser. You just give them your password protected Yuuguu URL and voila, they see your desktop. No software for them to install and no messing with the firewall.

In addition to desktop sharing there’s a chat window and a phone conference number. This is useful if you want to have multiple people dial in for a demonstration.

It’s great to see such a simple solution for sharing your desktop.
