Keep Your Software Up to Date

FileHippo has a large collection of useful software. I often check there when looking for software to perform a certain task. However, as we use more software it’s harder to keep everything up to date. Some applications, like Firefox, keep themselves up to date by letting you know there’s an upgrade available. But others don’t, and unless you check manually you’ll never know about new versions.

The folks at FileHippo created a small application to scan your computer and tell you about new versions. I’ve tried it on two computers and it found tons of updates that I hadn’t known about. It only takes a matter of seconds to run

This doesn’t cover every software package out there, but it covers enough popular software to make it worthwhile. I would imagine they’ll keep adding applications over time.
