The notification e-mails from FeedBurner stopped coming a few days ago. Then realized they stopped on the day I upgraded to Wordpress 2.0.6. It was most likely not a coincidence.
I typed up a question in the FeedBurner forums to ask if anyone knew what the problem might be, and then, as I often do, thought I should investigate the issue a little more on my own first. I found the Feedburner FeedMedic under the Troubleshootize section that shows you any errors that have occurred with your feed. There was one that kept repeating:
FeedBurner had trouble retrieving your Source Feed: http://dan.hersam.com/feed/atom/
The error message is: Your server disconnected us before sending the full source feed content. If your blogging platform is TextPattern, this is a known bug, and a fix can be found here: http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=11247
That looked suspect, but it didn’t mention Wordpress so I went to the Wordpress forums and found this issue, which had a link to a fix from Mark Jaquith, a Wordpress developer.
The fix is in functions.php which you can download from Mark’s site.
If you’re getting this post via e-mail from your FeedBurner subscription, then it worked.
I was answering a coworker’s question and as he went to a web site I saw he was using Firefox, but all of the tabs were different colors. I thought it might be a skin, but mentioned that I liked his colorful tabs. He laughed and said that was the precise name of the extension.
Here’s what it looks like.

If you like what you see, you can have colorful tabs as well. I found 6 to be a good setting for the level of background tab fading.
Sadly, it’s not available on Linux so I can’t use it at home. That’s the first extension I’ve seen that doesn’t work on all OSes. I wonder what the problem is.
