Belief in evolution makes people happy

I followed a link on Jason Kottke’s links to a post saying public acceptance of evolution is low and the US is second to last.

In the comments, someone noticed a potential reverse correlation between the happiness and evolution acceptance lists.

A map of happiness was created for a study, and I just recently found a similar map of happiness site that asks the simple question, “Are you happy?” and plots your geographic location (based on IP address I’m assuming) on a map. I wonder what makes Danish people so happy.

  1. I am Danish. Denmark is a small country whith a long history. The population is quite homogenous. Basically I think that we are happy because we have less conflicts. Another reason could be that the government help the poor. This also gives less crime.

  2. The US has some things to learn from Denmark. Maybe we should all go on a field trip there :)
