It’s December 1st again, and you know what that means - it’s time to break out xsnow and a new Christmas wallpaper for the holidays. I’ve also started listening to my collection of Christmas music to get into the holiday spirit.
Is this xsnow and wallpaper on your home computer, or at work, or maybe both? Any suggestions/tips you can offer about where to get cool Christmas wallpaper and these other gadgets? Thanks.
The screenshot is from my desktop at home which runs Linux, and xsnow is not readily accessible to the Windows-using masses. A Windows version of xsnow exists, but costs $10.
As for Christmas wallpapers, the one I used came from webshots.com, but I searched on Google, del.icio.us and used wallpaperreview.com.
Well, since I now run Linux at home, I’ve decided to also run xsnow as part of my seasonal desktop. Do you know how to have xsnow automatically run when I log in? I tried adding it to the startup section of sessions configuration and it does start up, but quits right away.

» Comment by dan on December 12, 2006 @ 11:01 amI have to launch it from a terminal and keep the terminal window open in order to keep xsnow running.
» Comment by Chad D on December 12, 2006 @ 6:20 pmI run ‘xsnow &’ in a terminal and close it and xsnow keeps right on snowing.
