Just a few days ago I wrote about how Topofusion was more impressive than Google Maps.
Well, I’m less inclined to make such a statement now that Google Maps has added color satellite images in addition to the map view. It doesn’t have the .25 meter resolution that you get with Topofusion, but it’s still very impressive and makes it extremely useful for locating things.
The server seems a bit slow right now, probably because lots of people are trying it out, but you can still see how it works. Just go somewhere on the map, then use the ‘Satellite’ link on the top right.
Very impressive indeed.
