I'm still on MT Blacklist, but I finally took the time to enter some very simple regex filters and it's done wonders in the past few days. I look at my log and it's denial after denial after denial. It's great.

Wow! Version 2.6 is excellent! I really like that it will delete the comments for you. It was getting a little tiresome deleting all of those comments.

I like that it would search past comments, too. That was one feature that I missed from MT-Blacklist.

I've been getting a constant stream of comment spam attempts since last night, but so far none have gotten through. I'm using the blacklist I had built up with MTBlacklist so it already has a lot of URLs blacklisted.

The other extremely useful feature of WP is that you can moderate any comment that has more than a certain number of links, meaning it won't show up on your blog until you approve it.

Ah, I had been wondering if WP was susceptible to comment spam.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if open Livejournals are also victims. I noticed there's now a note about "is this comment spam?" when you go to delete a comment in your journal. I've never gotten comment spam on LJ because I don't allow anonymous users to post, but I guess no blogging system is safe if it allows anonymity.
