WPblacklist working

I’ve been getting hit with several comment spam attempts today but so far none have gotten through. Fahim, the author of WPBlacklist e-mailed me and helped me get it configured correctly and now it’s working like a charm. I’m currently running WPBlacklist 2.6, the latest release that I know of, which automatically deletes comments that match your blacklist. It’s actually kind of fun to get comment spam now that it gets dumped. If it gets through the blacklist, then it hits the core WordPress moderation settings which have also proven fairly effective.

I’m sure there are more ways to combat comment spam, but my methods would have caught 90% of the spam that has overridden Foppery. I don’t think he’s been watching his site much. Either that or he doesn’t care. He has one entry that has over 500 comments, all of them spam.
