I already mentioned freecycle in passing when I wrote about Time’s 50 best web sites, but I ran into another article about freecycle.org and took a closer look.

It’s basically a site where you can give things away and get them for free. It’s presented as an alternative to selling them on eBay. They’ve created smaller groups grouped by geographic area to make it easy to trade items with people who live close to you.

There’s a freecycle group for the Salt Lake area that seems fairly active. To give you an idea of the great things you can get and give away, here’s a list of a few subjects (unaltered) from the Salt Lake group.
