The military has made me a neurotic promptness freak. Even when trying to be late for events, I'm often still early. However, my wife seems to be the one variable that keeps me in check. It drives me crazy but it's almost therapeutic, since it forces me to accept being tardy without jumping all over her case.
In fact, I often tell her that an event is starting at, say 6:00 when in reality, it starts at 6:30. This way, I know we'll be on time. I think I've coped rather well. {twich-twich}

I spent my formative years in New Hampshire (birth to 18 years old), so I consider myself an easterner.

So nice to see an lds boy (and a Utah one at that) who doesn't operate on MST. Or is it the girls that have that problem. :)

I believe in arriving a little early for events. To me, arriving when an event is to start gives the appearance of running late. We have this problem with our home school group. Everyone arrives when the function is to start; therefore, we are 10 - 15 minutes late kicking off the event. Now, for social gatherings I have to be a little more careful. I don't want to arrive too early and catch the hostess off guard.

It seems when trying to get myself and two little boys out the door we have the choice of arriving early (and being the first) or running late. I perfer to be early.

I am usually late for social gatherings unintentionally. If I were aiming to be late on purpose I might never show up. :)
