that is one huge burger

At Denny’s Beer Barrel pub in the UK Pennsylvania they’ll give you a free burger, with one condition: you have to eat it in three hours.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. The burger is enormous! It consists of 6 pounds of beef, one large onion, two whole tomatoes, a half head of lettuce, 1 1/4 pounds of cheese, top and bottom buns, and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, banana peppers and some pickles.

  1. Things I want to know:
    1) Has anyone ever finished it(and lived?)
    2) What does it cost when you realize there’s no way in heck you will even remotley come close to finishing it?

  2. An excellent question. I should have looked it up before, but I found the pub’s web site which has the answers to both your questions.

    1) No one has ever finished it.

    2) It costs $23.95.

  3. This reminds me of an “Even Stevens” episode where Twitty and Louis try to eat the king sloppy (same big hamburger) except they only had 1 hour to complete it.

The prize? A free burger and their picture on the wall.

    What a good show.

  5. I bet that Japanese guy that’s won the Nathan’s hotdog eating contest could do it. This guy ate over 50 hot dogs, including the buns, in mere minutes. I think around 12 minutes.

  7. Well, if your not up to the 6lb challenge it’s nice they provide two other ‘lesser’ challenges.

  8. by the way it is not in the UK but in the good ole U S of A. in a state called PA or Pennsylvania. Nice to know that we Americans know how to “beef” out.

  9. Whoops. You’re correct. I mistook the location of the message board where I saw the burger for the location of the restaurant.
