My coin collecting site used to be #3 on a google search for “coin collecting” but now it’s at #29. The odd thing is I didn’t change anything on the site, it just dropped on its own. I could understand if it fluctuated around a bit, but dropping by 26 spots seems excessive.

Triggered by the sudden drop in traffic and the realization that I depend far too heavily on Google for traffic on that site, I redesigned it and turned it into a blog using Movable Type. I still have some work to do on the design, but I think it’s usable for now. I plan to add new content regularly in the hopes that it will begin getting more traffic from sources other than search engines.

If you see any problems with the new site, or have any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them.
