For a smidgen of good old fashioned jocundity, read some old entries in your blog or journal. Not only do you get a chance to reminisce, you can also catch blunders. Some will be minor, like ‘prempt’ instead of ‘preempt.’ Others will be major, like forgetting to close the italics tag. This will cause the following three entries to be italicized, making you look unwitty. Fixing the errors is satisfying until you gasp in terror at the realization that even more mistakes are likely to reside in the rest of the archives. Momentarily saddened, it will soon dawn on you that you’re probably the only one who reads the archives and even if you’re not, those that read them are almost assuredly less picky about improper spelling and grammar than you.
At least that’s what happened to me.
