A couple has been charged in the death of their 4-year-old adopted daughter who allegedly had been forced to drink large amounts of water as part of an unusual therapy to promote family bonding. (SF Chronicle)

The idea that drinking extreme amounts of water will help you bond with your family doesn’t make any sense to me. It sounds absurd and I’m shocked that anyone would place any merit in it. I don’t think the parents had any malicious intent but it’s a tragedy that a defenseless child died because of their poor judgement.
