Levi just showed me the pictures he took at Jason’s wedding and I really liked the one of me giving Jason the ring. It was staged of course, but I thought it turned out quite nicely.
Is facial hair used by men in Provo to show that they don’t go to BYU? There seems to be a plethora of it among males not attending school. Just curious.
I first grew a goatee over the summer between semesters at BYU, mainly out of curiosity. I liked the look on other people and wondered what it would look like on me. I liked it, so when I left BYU I let it grow again. The association between facial hair and BYU rarely crossed my mind after that.
I imagine that some people might do it to show off the fact they’re not zoobies, but I think for the most part it’s just a fashion thing like any other. You do what you think looks good and will be attractive to those you’re trying to attract.
Is this Jason of Ahoy hoy fame? Is he short or are you tall? Or both?
And what’s a zoobie?

Oh, and the fountain is really cool, too. Is that a park?

That is indeed Jason of ahoy hoy, and I’m 6’0 so I wouldn’t say I’m tall, but Jason is not-so-tall, making me appear larger.
The fountain was in the front yard of the house where the wedding and reception were held. It belongs to a friend of Jason’s wife and it has an amazing backyard. In fact, there is a pond with crazy attack-swans in it.
Yes Renee, that is me, the ahoyhoy boy. I don’t think I’m short but average height. However, my wife is taller than me.

I think the average height in the US for males is below 6′ so sure, you can say your average. And I don’t mean that short is a bad thing. It’s worked well for Michael J. Fox!

You’ll have to ask Levi about the zoobie comment.
» Comment by dan on September 25, 2003 @ 1:36 pmA zoobie is a student at BYU, a.k.a. the B – Y – Zoo. It’s just one of those silly nicknames the school has, like Bring’em Young University, etc.
Beware the attack-swans! They are vicious!
