I used to buy CDs all the time, but for some reason I haven’t purchased a single one in over a year and a half. I continued to get a monthly CD from Promo Only until August 2001 when I cancelled my subscription, so it’s really only been a year of famine. Last week I went to SecondSpin and ended my self-imposed break. Here is the list of CDs that made the cut.
In self defense, the Michael Jackson pictured on the album cover looks quite normal. It was before he had all the surgery that has made him look like a white girl. Plus, it has some of his most well-known songs. Even allmusic.com gives it five stars, so it can’t be all bad.
Hey, Michael Jackson was the king of pop. I’ll even admit to liking some of his songs. I also think he’s a bit off his rocker, but that’s certainly no reason to shun his music, eh?
Those Tim McGraw CDs, however… that’s just sick and wrong. I don’t know how they managed to not get ousted from the box they were shipped in by the more tasteful CDs in their company. I know if I was a Thompson Twins CD I wouldn’t be caught dead in the company of a Tim McGraw recording. He couldn’t possibly have a stylish 80′s hairdo under that cowboy hat.
I just bought a 301 DVD/CD changer and right now it’s about half full. How do you work your CDs? Do you have a big changer or a CD rack and you have to put the CD in the player to hear it?
I keep all my CD’s at work in 100-CD folders (without the jewel cases). For my car, I have a 12-disc changer which I refresh every few weeks. At home I listen to the radio or MP3′s. I have also ripped quite a few of my CD’s onto my machine at work and I share that for others to listen to.
I love all of those, but the Michael Jackson thing, scary !!
