This is due to the fact that I've spent years with the cheap mechanical ones and their grime-collecting habits. I think if I were to get back all the time I've spent picking those nasty gunk-accumulations off the rollers of all the mice I've owned... well, I'd have a whole lot of extra time for stuff like writing silly comments on other people's blogs.
