joyous sorrow

Another coworker and I are still at work (look at the time I’m posting this.) It is very early (or late) to still be at work and yet here I am. It’s easy to tell when it’s time to go home because we start laughing at things that aren’t very funny. Stupid jokes, syntax errors in our code and a happy pink man with no arms who can dance (flash required) are all hilarious at 3:30 in the morning. We finally got things working to a point and are finally going home, so we’re quite pleased. The sad thing is that it took us so long to do it.

I’ve been answering a few HTML and style sheet questions from a fellow in the UK. He’s been doing a lot of work on his site, The Silver Sword and I think he’s done a fine job with it. He was even kind enough to thank me in one of his entries for the help I gave him.

Even though it’s late, I’m not very tired. Maybe it’s a result of the power nap I took earlier today when I was trying to work. I think it was my hearty lunch combined with the warm room that made me drowsy. I could barely keep my eyes open. After trying for a few minutes, I decided to pretend I was reading something in order to get a few minutes of shut-eye. After about 15 minutes I woke up, wiped the drool off the side of my face and gingerly massaged my sore neck. In spite of the uncomfortable position, I was surprisingly refreshed and continued the day without a problem. I wouldn’t recommend it as a daily habit, but it worked out well for me. Now it’s time to get some real sleep, in my own bed.
