Zero tolerance thread on metafilter – I’ve heard about some other zero tolerance stories but this one is just maddening because it is so absurd. I don’t think anyone would argue that it makes any sense to expel the child and yet that may be the outcome of the board. This particular story is especially intriguing because original poster is the brother of the student who brought the knife in. I’m planning on following this story to see how the board handles it.

I plan on having a family (patience, it takes time) eventually and I would hate to have to deal with this as a parent. Hopefully things will have reached a sane conclusion before I have to frisk my kids before they catch the bus in the morning.
