don’t be the fool

You will probably not want to take anything you read today seriously. Here are a few of the sites I found most amusing (Note: this will probably not be funny if you’re not viewing this on April 1st, 2002 since all the sites will appear to be normal)

Google uses pigeons to rank sites

Open source web dating

Microsoft taking over oswd.org (they even had clippy popping up)

CPAN supporting java now?

Backwards text, along with interesting fashion tips

Microsoft patents ones and zeroes

AOL buying up blogs?

Free cupcakes?

Linus quits kernel development

Wanda the Fish (The GNOME Fish Applet) died. It said: The water needs changing! (Look at today’s date)

There are a lot more too so read with caution. What still gets me is every year people blindly believe whatever they read on April Fools. Today is a good day to doubt everything you read or hear until it’s confirmed. It’s good that the the big boys don’t join in because we’d probably end up with mass hysteria.

I was too busy at work today to do anything funny for April Fools, so here’s a funny riddle for you:

Q: What do you say to a Puerto Rican in a three-piece suit?
A: Will the defendant please rise?
